Free International Art Exhibition at ION Orchard: Voice of Art 7 Brings 6 Countries, Rarely Seen Private Collections and Live Art Demos to ION Art Gallery (21-27 Oct, 10am-10pm Daily)
Be One Gallery's Voice of Art 7: Hope. Peace. Love takes over ION Art gallery on Level 4 of ION Orchard from 21 to 27 October 2026, open 10am to 10pm daily with free admission. Artists from Singapore, China, Vietnam, India, South Korea and France respond to three universal values, with names like 2017 UOB Painting of the Year Gold winner Abu Jalal, Beijing's blue-horse painter Ma Dongmin and Indian surrealist Zakir Husain Tanha. Beyond the main show there is a showcase of works from Singapore private collectors that the public rarely gets to see, a spotlight on glass art, and free live demonstrations from 3pm to 5pm on 23, 26 and 27 October covering stained glass, watercolour and contemporary art.

World Car-Free Day 2026: Joo Chiat Closes to Traffic on 3 October, and the Prize Deadline Is the Same Day
LTA published its World Car-Free Day 2026 factsheet on 2 September, and the headline event is a first: a stretch of Joo Chiat Road, between Dunman Road and East Coast Road, closes to traffic on 3 October 2026 from 3.30pm to 9.30pm for a free street festival with a Kueh Party, pickleball, a bike tour, rollerblading and live performances. Running alongside it is The Invisible City, a free location-based game on the government's CrowdTaskSG platform. Two things the coverage gets wrong. The game runs to 30 November, but the lucky draw for the three top prizes, a 3Sixty foldable bicycle, a DJI Osmo Pocket 4 and a Garmin Vivoactive 6, closes on 3 October, so the last eight weeks earn you nothing but coins. And those coins are worth far less than they sound: CrowdTaskSG's own FAQ prices them at 1,000 coins to S$1, so the advertised 100 coins per activity is ten cents. There is also a time clash worth knowing before you make the trip. LTA's website says the commemorative token is handed out from 3.30pm to 9.30pm; the game's own terms and conditions say 4pm to 9pm, first come first served.

Free F1 Pit Lane Walk, 8 Oct 2026: the Public Ballot Closes 18 Sep, and the Form Has a Quiz Question You Have to Get Right
Singapore GP Pte Ltd opened the public ballot for the Thursday Pit Lane Experience on 2 September 2026, and it is free: up to 4,500 fans will walk the Marina Bay pit lane past the Formula 1 team garages on Thursday 8 October, 7.30pm to 11pm, the evening before the Circuit Park opens for race weekend. You do not need a race ticket, the ballot is open to Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents only, and it closes on Friday 18 September at 11.59pm. Three things the coverage is leaving out, all of them from Singapore GP's own form and terms. The entry form carries a compulsory qualifying question you must answer correctly, naming the bridges that form part of the Marina Bay Street Circuit, so a wrong answer removes you before the draw runs. Each NRIC or FIN holder is limited to one application and duplicates are not considered, though every eligible adult in a household may enter separately. And each winner receives a pair of tickets that must cover children too, because every patron including a child needs a valid ticket. The pit lane walk itself runs in batches of roughly 20 minutes, telephoto and removable-lens cameras are barred from the Circuit Park, and only successful applicants are notified, by email, by Friday 2 October.
