Race promoter Singapore GP Pte Ltd has opened a public ballot for the Thursday Pit Lane Experience, and this is the rare F1 thing that costs nothing and does not need a race ticket. Up to 4,500 fans will walk the Marina Bay pit lane on Thursday 8 October 2026, the evening before the Circuit Park opens for race weekend, past the Formula 1 team garages while the mechanics are still setting up.

The bit almost everyone is missing: there is a quiz question
The ballot is not a name-and-email form. Singapore GP's official entry form carries a compulsory qualifying question that you have to answer correctly to qualify:
> "Name the bridge(s) in Singapore that is part of the Marina Bay Street Circuit."
The Marina Bay Street Circuit runs over two named bridges. The cars cross the Anderson Bridge, the 1910 steel-arch bridge beside The Fullerton, at Turn 12, and then the Esplanade Bridge over the Singapore River, which is where the circuit's third DRS zone sits. Look at the official circuit map before you type your answer, because a wrong one takes you out of the draw before the random selection even runs.
The rest of the form is short: full name as per NRIC, email address, contact number, and the last 4 characters of your NRIC. Gender and age group are optional, as is the marketing opt-in.

Six things in the fine print that change how you enter
1. One entry per NRIC or FIN, and duplicates are binned. The terms say each NRIC/FIN holder is limited to one application and duplicate entries will not be considered. Applying twice does not double your odds, it risks your entry. What it does mean is that every eligible adult in a household can enter separately on their own NRIC, so a couple who both apply are two entries, not one.
2. Silence means no. Only successful applicants are notified, by Friday 2 October 2026, at the email address on the application. If nothing lands by then, you were not drawn. There is no results page to check, and the terms say ballot results are final with no appeals or correspondence.
3. The pair of tickets has to cover your children too. Every patron, including children, must have a valid ticket for entry. A winning pair is therefore two people total, not two adults plus kids. Children below 12 must be accompanied and supervised at all times by an adult aged 18 or above.
4. The pit lane walk itself is about 20 minutes. The walk is run in batches with an allocated time of roughly 20 minutes per batch, and restricted areas stay closed. Budget the rest of the 7.30pm to 11pm window for the Zone 1 F1 Village and the interactive activities, which is where most of the evening actually goes.
5. Leave the proper camera at home. This is the rule that catches people out. The terms bar telephoto lenses, long lenses and removable-lens cameras from the Circuit Park, and Singapore GP may confiscate or refuse entry to that equipment. Mobile phones and still-image cameras are fine, for private, non-commercial use only. The official photo on this page is, fittingly, a fan shooting the Williams garage on a phone.
6. The tickets are worth nothing to anyone else. They are strictly not for sale, non-exchangeable, non-transferable, non-replaceable and not redeemable for cash, and Singapore GP warns that uncollected tickets are also void. Tickets bought from unauthorised resellers will be voided without compensation and the holder turned away at gate verification. Do not buy a "spare" off a listing site.
If you saw "registration has closed", you were on the wrong page
There are two different routes to this event, and the older one is dead. A separate ticketholder contest ran earlier in the year on the Singapore GP contests page, open only to people who already held a Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2026 ticket, and it closed on 9 August 2026. That page still shows "Registration has closed", which is what a lot of fans are landing on.
The public ballot described here is a different thing on a different page: no race ticket required, open to all Singapore Citizens and PRs, and open until 18 September. Enter at singaporegp.sg under RevUp SG, the promoter's community programme, which also runs the #RevUpSG Watch Party screenings this year. The other two RevUp SG activations, All Access 2.0 and Beyond The Track, are both closed.
What it is worth
A Zone 4 walkabout ticket for the race weekend itself starts at roughly S$198 a day, and none of those tiers get you onto the pit lane at any point. The Thursday Pit Lane Experience is the only route the general public has to stand on the racing surface in front of the garages, and it costs an entry form and a correct answer about a bridge. For 4,500 people out of a city of six million, the odds are what they are, but the entry costs nothing but five minutes.
