Winter Time is putting what it calls its biggest winter wear and luggage event into Singapore Expo Hall 5A from Thursday 10 to Sunday 13 September 2026, and the artwork on its own site carries the headline: up to 80% off.

What is actually on

Straight from Winter Time's event page, the floor is split three ways:

  • New season parkas, jackets, sweaters and boots
  • Luggage and travel essentials
  • Thermal wear

The brand's own "what to expect" list is short and unusually honest: new arrivals, mark downs, star buys, free gifts and, in its own words, crowds. The page closes with "stay tune for our latest update", which is the tell. As of 8 September, two days out, Winter Time has not published a single expo price.

The 80% needs reading properly

The 80% is the brand's own figure, printed on its campaign artwork, so this is not an aggregator inflating a number. But an "up to" ceiling with no published price list underneath it is a promise about one clearance rack, not about the hall.

Here is the comparison that makes the point. The Tai Seng Travel Goods Warehouse Sale, running the exact same four days, put a full price list out before the doors opened, item by item. Winter Time has not. That is not a criticism of the sale, it just changes how you should plan for it: you cannot decide in advance whether a specific case is worth the trip, so you have to arrive with your own benchmark.

The prices to beat, from Winter Time's own shop

These are live on wintertime.com.sg on 8 September 2026, and they are what an expo price has to undercut before the trip pays for itself:

The luggage line is the important one. Winter Time's house luggage brand, Sumuzu, sits at a standing 50% off on the brand's own website, not as a flash sale. So a case marked "50% off" at the hall is not a sale price at all, it is the everyday price with a banner over it. The wool sweaters, down parkas and trench coats, by contrast, are not discounted online at all, which is where a real expo mark down would actually show up.

The clash nobody is flagging

Two luggage sales run on exactly the same four days, 10 to 13 September 2026.

  • Winter Time, Singapore Expo Hall 5A, 10.30am to 9.30pm daily. Winter clothing specialist, luggage alongside, no published prices.
  • The Famous Tai Seng Travel Goods Warehouse Sale, 9 Tai Seng Link, luggage and travel goods only, prices published in advance including a 24 inch hardcase at $39 and a TSA-lock 28 inch at $49.

Opposite ends of the island, and both close on Sunday night. If a suitcase is the only thing on your list, Tai Seng's numbers are known and yours to check. If anyone in the house needs a jacket for a year-end trip, Winter Time is the one to go to, because winter clothing at this depth is not something local malls carry all year.

Practical notes

Getting there. Singapore Expo Hall 5A, 1 Expo Drive. Expo MRT serves both the Downtown Line and the East West Line, and the walk to the halls is sheltered.

The hours are the same every day, 10.30am to 9.30pm across all four. Four-day Expo sales usually cut the last Sunday short, so a Sunday evening run here is genuinely a full session rather than a scramble. That said, the brand itself warns about crowds, and the first morning is when the deepest clearance is still sized.

Admission. Winter Time's page lists no ticket price and no registration step. It also does not state that entry is free, so do not treat that as confirmed.

Who this is genuinely for

Anyone with a December or January trip to Japan, Korea, Europe or Australia already booked, and parents whose children have grown out of last winter's parka, which happens on roughly a one-year cycle. Buying winter clothing in Singapore in September rather than in the destination in December is usually the cheaper half of the trip, and a $149 kids' down parka bought at a mark down is money that does not have to be spent in a Tokyo department store.

If your trip is not booked yet and you are only going because of the 80%, wait. There is no published price to chase, and the brand runs this event more than once a year.
