If there is a tired suitcase with a dodgy wheel sitting in your storeroom, it is now worth about $200 to $280. Metro has extended its DELSEY PARIS trade-in to 30 September 2026: hand over a used case at Metro Paragon or Metro Causeway Point and take 40% off a new DELSEY PARIS suitcase.

> Quick view: 40% off DELSEY PARIS TURENNE 2.0 and CADENCE cases that Metro's own poster prices at a usual $519–$709 — so about $311.40–$425.40, GST already included. In-store only at Metro Paragon and Metro Causeway Point, until 30 September 2026. You must trade in a used suitcase.

The number is on the poster, not in the post

Metro announced this on its own Instagram on 19 August 2026. Here is the entire commercial content of that caption:

> "Trade in your used luggage and enjoy exclusive trade-in savings on a new DELSEY PARIS suitcase... Trade-In Promotion extended until 30 September 2026. Visit us in-store today. Terms & Conditions apply."

"Exclusive trade-in savings." No percentage. No price. If you read only the caption — which is what most people do, and what most write-ups of this promotion have repeated — you would have no idea whether this is worth crossing town for.

The campaign poster attached to that same post is where the actual numbers live: 40% OFF, and "Usual: $519 - $709". That is the whole deal, printed in the artwork and nowhere else.

What 40% off actually costs

Usual (Metro's poster)With trade-in
Bottom of the range$519$311.40
Top of the range$709$425.40
You save$207.60 – $283.60

One thing worth being explicit about, because it runs the opposite way to the restaurant deals we usually cover: Singapore retail prices are quoted with GST included. There is no "++" waiting at the till. $311.40 means $311.40.

Metro's poster gives the band but does not break it down by size, so which case sits at $519 and which at $709 is something you will only find on the shelf tag.

What you can actually buy with it

Two collections are on the poster, and both are built the same way — 4 double wheels, expandable hard case spinner, Zip SECURITECH® 2 and a TSA lock:

  • TURENNE 2.055cm / 68cm / 76cm / Trunk (29"), in four colourways (black, navy, green and a pale blue).
  • CADENCE55cm / 76cm / Trunk (29"), in four colourways (black, white, navy and brown).

The 55cm is the cabin size, the 68cm and 76cm are the check-in workhorses, and the 29-inch trunk is the one you buy once and regret carrying up stairs forever.

You cannot do this online. We checked Metro's DELSEY range on metro.com.sg on 21 August 2026: it lists eleven DELSEY products, and neither TURENNE 2.0 nor CADENCE is among them. The store's standing MET8 code (8% off online) is a separate, unrelated offer — do not go in expecting to stack it.

The fine print Metro hasn't published

This is the honest weak spot in the campaign, and it is worth saying plainly rather than glossing over it. Metro's announcement carries three facts — the end date, the two stores, and "Terms & Conditions apply" — and stops there.

What is not stated anywhere Metro publishes:

  • What condition the traded-in suitcase has to be in. Broken wheels? Cracked shell? Unclear.
  • Whether the old case has to be a DELSEY, or any particular brand, or hard-shell.
  • Whether one trade-in buys one discounted suitcase, or more. If you are buying a pair, this is the question that decides whether you bring one old case or two.
  • Whether the 40% applies to every size in both collections, or only selected ones.

There is no T&C page for this promotion on metro.com.sg to check against. So: phone first. Metro Paragon is on 6835 3322 (WhatsApp 9058 3322); Metro Causeway Point is on 6893 3322.

Where to go

Metro Paragon — 290 Orchard Road, #02-28 Paragon, Singapore 238859. Open 10am–9pm. Nearest MRT: Orchard (NS22) or Somerset (NS23).

Metro Causeway Point — 1 Woodlands Square, #01-18/19 Causeway Point, Singapore 738099. Open 10.30am–9.30pm. Nearest MRT: Woodlands (NS9), and the bus interchange is right there.

Why there is a real clock on this one

The promotion runs at exactly two addresses, and those two addresses are the ones Metro has already flagged.

On 20 July 2026, Metro Holdings filed an announcement with the SGX titled *Update On Retail Operations And Retail Strategy*. In it, the board said the group intends to move away from the traditional large-format department store model towards smaller-format and multi-specialty concept stores — and that it "will not operate its existing large-format department stores at Metro Paragon and Metro Causeway Point upon the conclusion of the existing lease arrangements for those locations".

Two things to keep straight:

  1. No closing dates were given. The filing does not say when either lease ends, and Metro said it is in discussions with the existing landlords and others about rolling out the new concept stores. Both stores are trading normally today.
  2. This is not a closing-down sale. The 40% is a brand trade-in campaign, not a liquidation.

But it does mean the window on "walk into Metro Paragon and buy a suitcase" is finite in a way it wasn't a year ago, and the promotion's own end date — 30 September 2026 — arrives first regardless.

Timing it well

The 40% runs through the whole of September, which is useful: the September school holidays start on 5 September, and year-end flights are being booked now. If you were going to replace a suitcase anyway, this is the cheaper end of the year to do it.

If you are heading to Paragon, note that Orchard Road has its own SG61 rebates running in parallel — different mechanic, different store list, but worth a look while you are on that stretch.
