> Quick view: From Friday 23 October 2026, the Government's free haze mask handout goes into a second wave and now covers every Singaporean aged 60 and above. If you already collected, you can get two more masks. Newly eligible seniors get one pack of two. Anyone who qualified in the first wave but never collected can take four masks at any community club. Bring the eligible person's NRIC, and find your nearest point at gowhere.gov.sg/hazemask.
The first wave started on 14 October, when PM2.5 readings hit the Very High band. It was limited to Pioneer and Merdeka Generation seniors and a few other vulnerable groups, which left out many seniors in their 60s. Minister for Sustainability and the Environment Grace Fu said on 22 October that the Government had heard from them and "we agree with them", so the age line drops from 67 to 60.
What changes on 23 October
| Who | What you can collect | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Collected in the first wave | Another pack of 2 masks | Any CC or vending machine |
| New: all Singaporeans aged 60+ | One pack of 2 masks | Any CC or vending machine |
| Eligible in wave 1 but never collected | 4 masks (both waves) | Any CC |
Who is eligible in the second wave
At vending machines or CCs, with NRIC: Pioneer Generation, Merdeka Generation, CHAS Orange and CHAS Blue cardholders, Medical Fee Exemption Card (MFEC) holders, ComCare Assistance recipients, and (new) all Singaporeans aged 60 and above.
At CCs only: pregnant women (bring an antenatal card, health booklet or medical memo, or make a self-declaration), children aged 7 to 16, and people with medical conditions such as asthma.
A family member or friend can collect for an eligible person using that person's NRIC, including at the vending machines, where you scan the NRIC barcode. The Government masks may be N95, KN95, FFP2 or KF94, all of which filter haze particles.
Practical tips
- Vending machines run 24 hours at selected bus interchanges, MRT stations, Social Service Offices and PA venues, and dispense a pack of two adult masks per scan. Children's sizes are at CCs only.
- Machine down or empty? Use HazeMaskGoWhere to find the next CC or machine, or call the hotline on the machine, 6727 5594 (8.30am to 8.30pm).
- Collect now, not when the PSI spikes. Air quality was back in the normal range on 22 October, but the haze task force says only about 22% of eligible Singaporeans have collected, and the minister asked people to stay prepared for another deterioration.
Not on the list?
You buy your own. Ms Fu said MOH will draw on the national inventory to restock Sheng Siong, Giant and Cold Storage, and that FairPrice has masks in stores and online. Our N95 price check shows who had boxes in stock and at what price.
