Shell Singapore is giving away 10,000 free Shell Select Care Packs to Primary 6 students ahead of the PSLE, and the part that makes it worth a trip is in Shell's own FAQ: no purchase is required.

> Quick view: free Care Pack, described by Shell as over $30 of snacks and treats · Primary 6 students only · Sat 19, Sun 20, Sat 26 and Sun 27 Sep 2026 · 8am to 8pm · 51 stations · one per student for the whole period · no purchase needed · first come, first served.

What is actually in the bag

Shell's campaign page describes the pack as "over $30 worth of snacks, refreshments and treats", packed into a red Shell drawstring bag. Shell does not publish an item list in its terms, and its FAQ says contents are pre-packed and may vary.

What Shell's own campaign photo shows is a fairly generous spread for a freebie: an Essence of Chicken box, a carton of full cream milk, a twin pack of Tim Tam, Snickers, Skittles, Haribo, a probiotic drink, potato crisps, two mini muffin cakes and a boxed novelty snack. Do not treat that photo as a packing list. Shell's terms are blunt on the point: contents are not exchangeable, transferable or replaceable. You take the bag you are handed.

Who qualifies and what to bring

The giveaway is open to Primary 6 students studying in Singapore. At the counter, present any one of:

  • a Primary 6 student ID, and Shell says the EZ-Link card version counts, or
  • the PSLE examination slip, physical or digital, including a copy displayed through the EZ-Link app.

Two details are worth more than they look:

  1. The child does not have to come along. Shell's FAQ says a parent or guardian may collect on the child's behalf, as long as they bring the child's Primary 6 student ID or PSLE examination slip. That turns this from a family outing into a five-minute errand on the way to somewhere else.
  2. No proof, no pack. Shell states that redemption cannot be processed without valid proof of eligibility. Photograph the exam slip before you leave the house.

One per student, not one per weekend

This is the line most write-ups skate over. Shell's FAQ limits redemption to one Care Pack per eligible Primary 6 student for the entire promotion period. Four dates means four chances to turn up, not four packs. The second weekend is insurance, not a second helping.

The stocks math, and why you should go early

Ten thousand packs sounds like plenty until you divide it. Across 51 stations, that is about 196 packs per station for the whole run, or roughly 49 a day if they were split evenly, which they will not be. Redemption is first come, first served, and Shell says it ends once stocks at a location are fully redeemed.

The practical version: go on the morning of Saturday 19 September, and if you have a choice, pick a station away from the large housing estates. The count is thin enough that the queue, not the eligibility, is the real gate.

Which weekend, per SEAB's timetable

The two weekends are not interchangeable. SEAB's official 2026 PSLE timetable (updated 13 February 2026) puts Listening Comprehension on Tuesday 15 September, then the written papers as follows:

DatePaper
Thu 24 SepEnglish Language
Fri 25 SepMathematics
Mon 28 SepMother Tongue
Tue 29 SepScience
Wed 30 SepHigher Mother Tongue

So weekend one (19-20 Sep) is a genuinely clear weekend: Listening Comprehension is done and the written papers are still four days away. Weekend two (26-27 Sep) sits inside the exam period, landing after Maths on the Friday and before Mother Tongue Papers 1 and 2 on the Monday. For most households that is a revision weekend, which is exactly when a parent collecting alone makes more sense than dragging the candidate along.

For the rest of the term: SEAB lists the marking exercise as 12 to 14 October 2026, and results are due tentatively 24 to 25 November 2026.

The 51 stations, and the gaps

Shell's list runs: 168 Pasir Panjang, 328 Pasir Panjang, Alexandra, Ang Mo Kio Ave 6, Boon Lay, Braddell, Bukit Batok Nature Park, Bukit Batok Road, Bukit Panjang, Bukit Timah Hill, Changi Kembangan, Choa Chu Kang, Commonwealth, Dunearn Eng Neo, Dunearn Uni, East Coast, Geylang Lor 7, Guillemard, Havelock, Hougang, Jervois, Jurong West Ave 5, Lakeview, MacPherson, Moulmein, Newton Circus, Newton Hooper Rd, Outram, Pasir Ris, Paya Lebar MacPherson, Paya Lebar PIE, Pierce Reservoir, Punggol, Seletar Hills, Sembawang, Sengkang, Serangoon North, Serangoon Rd, SGN Gdn, Siglap, Simpang Bedok, Tampines Ave 2, Tanjong Katong, Telok Blangah, Thomson Novena, Tiong Bahru, Toa Payoh, Upp Thomson Mandai, Upper Bukit Timah PIE, Woodlands Ave 9 and Yio Chu Kang.

The gaps are worth knowing before you drive. Yishun, Jurong East, Clementi, Bishan and Marine Parade do not appear on the list at all. Bedok is covered only by Simpang Bedok, Woodlands only by Woodlands Ave 9, and Tampines only by Tampines Ave 2. If you are in one of the uncovered towns, the nearest participating station may be a genuine detour rather than a corner stop.

How it compares

This is the second big PSLE freebie of the season. FairPrice's Cheers Breakfast Club ran 12,000 free breakfast bundles worth over $25 for P6 students, but that one closed on 6 September. Shell's is larger per pack (over $30 against over $25) and smaller in count (10,000 against 12,000), and unlike the Cheers bundles it is not tied to a breakfast window: any time between 8am and 8pm on the four days works.
