> Quick view: NParks is balloting allotment garden plots at 13 parks. Apply via AXS from 2pm on 20 October to 11.59pm on 2 November 2026. A plot costs $65.40 a year including GST for up to three years, and most plots start in Q2 2027. One application per household, age 18 and above.

If you have been wanting a proper patch of soil to grow chilli, kangkong or herbs, this is the window. The National Parks Board (NParks) announced on 19 October 2026 that its next Allotment Gardening Scheme exercise opens tomorrow, with plots across the island. There are now more than 2,500 allotment plots in 29 parks and gardens, and NParks only opens applications in batches, so missing this round means waiting for the next one in Q2 2027.

Which parks have plots this round

NParks' official table lists these parks, plot counts and estimated licence start dates:

ParkPlotsEstimated start
HortPark91Q2 2027
Punggol Waterway Park84Q2 2027
Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park68Q2 2027

Sembawang Park12Q2 2027
Bukit Canberra10Q2 2027
Yishun Neighbourhood Park8Q2 2027
Kent Ridge Park1Q2 2027

Note on Clementi Woods: NParks says that allotment garden will be closed for redevelopment works from the 2nd to 4th quarter of 2027, which is why its start date is Q4 2027 rather than Q2. If you want to start gardening sooner, pick another park.

Kent Ridge Park has a single plot and Yishun Neighbourhood Park has eight, so the odds there are slim. HortPark, Punggol Waterway and Bishan-AMK have the most plots this round.

How to apply

  1. Go to an AXS channel: the e-Station website (e-station2.axs.com.sg), the AXS m-Station app, or an AXS kiosk. Online channels use Singpass; if you have no Singpass, use a kiosk.
  2. Choose the park you want and submit before 11.59pm on 2 November 2026 (Monday).
  3. Wait for the computerised ballot. You cannot choose a specific plot; plots (waist- or knee-height) are assigned by the ballot.

For application problems, NParks directs you to AXS Customer Service at 6560 2727 (8.30am to 6pm daily).

Cost and what you get

  • $65.40 a year including GST, for a licence of up to three years. NParks says this rate applies to 2026 application exercises.
  • A raised planter bed (2.5m x 1m) filled with soil, plus a mini storage area for tools.
  • Shared water points, but no electricity.
  • Successful applicants pay through AXS. The payment deadline in the Letter of Offer is final; NParks says it cannot accept late payment.

Fine print worth knowing before you apply

  • One application per household. Extra applications from the same household are not accepted, and each household may hold one plot at any one location.
  • Minimum age 18 at the time of application. Foreigners can apply, but Singaporeans and PRs get priority.
  • Results: a Letter of Offer by email from AXS within one month of the close for successful applicants; unsuccessful applicants hear within three months. There is no waitlist.
  • Plot rules: plants and structures must stay under 1m tall from the bed, no thorny, poisonous or illegal plants, and no chemical pesticides, herbicides or fungicides.
  • Upkeep is on you. You must maintain the plot at your own cost, and you are responsible for any mosquito breeding NEA finds there. NParks can take back a neglected plot, and you cannot hand the upkeep to someone else.
  • No fences or CCTV. The gardens sit in public parkland, so harvests are not secured.
  • Renewals: existing gardeners with good gardening etiquette may be offered another three-year licence when theirs ends, which is one reason new plots are scarce.

What it means for you

At $65.40 a year, a plot works out to about $5.45 a month. The catch is commitment: you sign up for up to three years of regular upkeep, with fines from NEA if water collects and breeds mosquitoes. If you live near HortPark, Punggol Waterway or Bishan-AMK, those parks give you the best odds this round. Apply once per household, check your email (and junk folder) after 2 November, and pay promptly if you are offered a plot.

Details here are from NParks' official GardeningSG page as at 19 October 2026. Confirm the latest terms in the AXS application system before you submit.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I apply for an NParks allotment garden plot in October 2026?

Apply through AXS between 2pm on 20 October and 11.59pm on 2 November 2026. You can use the AXS e-Station website (e-station2.axs.com.sg), the AXS m-Station app or any AXS kiosk; the online channels log you in with Singpass, and people without Singpass can use a kiosk. Plots are allocated by computerised ballot, so applying on day one does not improve your chances. For help with the application, NParks points you to the AXS hotline at 6560 2727 (8.30am to 6pm daily).

How much does an allotment plot cost and what do I get?

The rate is $65.40 a year including GST, valid for 2026 application exercises, and the licence runs for up to three years. You get a raised planter bed of 2.5m x 1m with soil and a small storage area for tools. Shared water points are provided but there is no electricity. Successful applicants pay through AXS by the deadline in their Letter of Offer, and NParks says it cannot accept payment after that deadline.

Who can apply, and when will I know if I got a plot?

Anyone aged 18 and above can apply, one application per household, and each household can hold one plot at any one location at a time. Foreigners may apply, but NParks gives priority to Singapore citizens and permanent residents. Successful applicants get a Letter of Offer by email from AXS within one month of the 2 November close; unsuccessful applicants are told within three months (ST reports around February 2027). Check your junk folder, since there is no waitlist if you miss the offer.
