Singapore is losing a waterfront hangout that a lot of north-east families treated as their default Friday night, and the clock on it is short.
Punggol East Container Park, the cluster of shipping-container eateries, bars, sports facilities and a prawning pond at 50 Punggol East, is closing after about ten years. All tenants must vacate by Sunday 1 November 2026, and the land goes back to the Singapore Land Authority when the head lease expires on 31 December 2026.

What was actually announced, and by whom
There was no press release and no agency statement. The confirmation came from the site's own head tenant.
City Sprouts, the social enterprise that runs the site as an urban farm and community space, told its tenants in an email dated 4 August 2026 that the land is to be returned to the Singapore Land Authority at the end of its lease on 31 December 2026. The company said the return of the land was not a decision within its control, and that it is doing its best to support tenants through the transition. City Sprouts has also said it received the official notice to vacate and carry out reinstatement works back in May 2026.
More than 50 tenants are affected. The site sits beside Riviera station on the Punggol LRT east loop, and the same address hosts both the container park's food and drink units and City Sprouts' greenhouse plots.

The gap between 1 November and 31 December is not extra trading time. That window is for clearing the site and carrying out the reinstatement works City Sprouts was told to complete.
Which stalls have named a last day
Three have committed to a date publicly. The rest have not, which is the reason to check rather than assume.
Fat Po is the earliest of the confirmed ones at 20 September 2026, and has not announced a new location. If it is on your list, that is barely more than two weeks away.
Seoul Good Dessert Coffee X ChickyFish is closing at the end of October 2026. ChickyFish has been on the site for around ten years, so this is close to the full run of the park.
The Smok Hous, the halal low-and-slow barbecue unit, posted on its own Facebook page in plain terms: it is closing by 1 November 2026 or possibly earlier. The team has said it is still searching for a new site and has no replacement address to announce. Two things worth knowing before you make the trip: the outlet at 50 Punggol East is its only one, and it does not take reservations. It is walk-in only by design, and because the brisket takes half a day to prepare there is a limited amount each day. Going late on a weekend in the final weeks is how you end up disappointed.
Tarana is the sharpest example of the timing. It opened roughly four months before the closure news landed.
What is not confirmed
Be careful with the redevelopment line that has spread quickly.
Tenants have said their landlord told them the government is taking the land back ahead of residential development in the area, and several write-ups have run with that. That is the tenants' account of a message they received, not a published plan. No agency has issued a public statement naming a project, a timeline or a launch date for the site. Until one does, treat it as reported context.
Also unconfirmed: whether any stall extends past 1 November, where any of them reopen, and what happens to the community growers renting greenhouse plots. City Sprouts itself is not shutting down. Its website lists five sites, Henderson, Pasir Ris, Punggol, West Coast and Bedok, and only Punggol is affected here. Its Pasir Ris site is on the grounds of the former Loyang Primary School at 3A Pasir Ris Drive 6.
If you are going, go on a weekday
The practical advice is boring and correct. Every closure story in Singapore produces the same pattern: a quiet few weeks, then a crush in the final fortnight when the last-chance posts go up. The Smok Hous alone drew tens of thousands of views on its closing announcement.
Go on a weekday evening in September rather than the last weekend in October. Bring the group you would have brought anyway. Check the specific stall's Facebook or Instagram the same week, because the dates in this article are the ones stated so far and stalls have been revising them.
