Big news for ramen lovers: Mensho — the celebrated, Michelin-approved Tokyo ramen brand — is launching a brand-new concept called MENSHO X, and it has chosen Singapore for its first outlet anywhere in the world. It opens at Six Battery Road, near Raffles Place, on 14 July 2026.

> The "X" is short for "express" — a leaner, faster format built for modern city life, and Singapore has been picked as the global testbed.

What makes it different

This isn't just another Mensho branch — it's a new express concept debuting here first. Expect a compact, sleek CBD space (around 46 seats) built for a quick, quality ramen fix.

The food centres on three noodle styles:

  • Ramen — noodles in broth
  • Tsukemen — noodles served separately to dip into a concentrated broth
  • Mazemen — brothless "mixed" noodles

The noodles use a custom flour blend for a distinct, springy bite, and the signature is a lighter, more nuanced toripaitan (chicken) broth — infused with kelp, shiitake and porcini to match the thinner noodles.

Prices & the opening deal

It's pitched at the CBD lunch crowd, with everything reportedly under ~$22 (bowls from around $17++) — accessible for a brand of this pedigree.

To celebrate the launch, MENSHO X is giving a free ajitama (marinated soft egg) with every ramen for the first 100 diners each day, 14–18 July 2026. Get there early if you want it.
