IKEA Singapore is marking Children's Day with a free oat vanilla ice cream cone for every child aged 12 and under, on Friday 2 October 2026 only, at the Swedish Bistro in all three stores.

The offer
IKEA's own Swedish Bistro page carries a "Children's Day sweet surprise" panel with four terms:
- Redeemable only at the Swedish Bistro, on Friday 2 October 2026, while stocks last.
- Valid for children aged 12 and under only.
- The child must be present, and each child can redeem once.
- IKEA co-workers may ask to verify age with photo ID, such as a student's concession card.
The cone is IKEA's oat vanilla soft serve, which the bistro menu lists as 100% plant-based and dairy-free at $0.50. So the saving is 50 cents a child. It is a treat to fold into a trip you were making anyway, not a reason to cross the island.

IKEA Tampines has a second bistro on Level 1 (11am-10.30pm), but it runs a separate halal menu, and its dessert list shows only a fruit ice cream cup, not the oat cone. IKEA's terms simply say "Swedish Bistro", so go to Level 3 at Tampines.
The fine print
- Children's Day is a school holiday, not a public holiday. Friday 2 October is a holiday for primary schools only. IKEA keeps weekday hours, so Alexandra and Tampines do not open their bistros until 11am.
- Bring proof of age for older kids. A student concession card works, according to IKEA's terms. A child who clearly looks 12 or under may not be asked, but an 11- or 12-year-old could be.
- No proxy claims. The child has to be at the counter, so you cannot collect cones for siblings who stayed home.
- While stocks last. IKEA gives no quantity, and a school-holiday afternoon is the riskiest time to arrive.
Tips
- Go to Jurong for the earliest cone. Its bistro opens at 10am and sits in JEM, linked to Jurong East MRT.
- Plan around Småland. At Tampines, the free play area should keep weekday hours on 2 October, since it is not a public holiday: 2pm to 9pm with last entry at 8pm, so a morning cone and an afternoon Småland slot do not overlap.
- Stack a second free cone. McDonald's Children's Day promotion gives kids a free Vanilla Cone for a signed Promise Bookmark, from 24 September to 7 October, so the same child can collect both.
- Adults pay 50 cents. The regular oat cone is $0.50, and the bistro's hot dog is $1, so the whole family can eat for a few dollars.
