Giant's Super Savings flyer for Thursday 17 to Wednesday 23 September 2026 leads with Häagen-Dazs at any 2 for $19.80. We read every price on the two-page flyer Giant publishes on its own site, then checked a dozen of them against FairPrice Online the same morning. Most of the big-brand lines really are cheaper at Giant this week. Two of the loudest ones are not, unless you buy in pairs.

> Quick view: Häagen-Dazs 420ml-473ml any 2 for $19.80 ($9.90 a tub, FairPrice's own any-2 price is $27.50), Ferrero Rocher T16 $10.95, Brand's Essence of Chicken 12s $31.95, Sunshine Bay Scallop 2 for $8.80, and Buy 1 Get 1 Free on Dynamo 4-in-1 capsules and Clear Men shampoo. 17-23 Sep 2026 at Giant stores, while stocks last. The "4 Days Price Off" block ends Sun 20 Sep. 34 of the 68 offers need two or more units.

The Häagen-Dazs deal, checked

Giant prints the usual price as $29.50 for two, which is $14.75 a tub. That matches the market: FairPrice Online lists the 473ml pints at $14.77 each. What makes Giant's price worth the trip is that FairPrice is running its own multi-buy on the same tubs, and Giant still beats it.

Where (checked 17 Sep)Price for 2 tubsPer tub
Giant Super Savings, 17-23 Sep$19.80$9.90
FairPrice Online, any 2 offer (to 30 Sep)$27.50$13.75
FairPrice Online, regular price$29.54$14.77
Cold Storage any 3 for $25 (30 Jul-5 Aug, ended)$16.67$8.33

Two things to know. The offer covers 420ml to 473ml tubs at the same price, and at least one current flavour (Pistachio Cream) comes in the smaller 420ml size, so check the lid if you want the extra 53ml. And the Cold Storage deal that ended on 5 August was cheaper per tub, so this is a good price rather than the year's best.

Giant against FairPrice Online, line by line

We looked up the branded lines that FairPrice also sells online. FairPrice's figures are its online prices, including any offer running on 17 September.

The last two rows are the Buy 1 Get 1 Free lines. Take the free second unit and the picture flips: two boxes of capsules are $36.50 at Giant against $55.80 at FairPrice, and two bottles of Clear Men are $16.50 against $19.50. If one box of laundry capsules lasts your household two months, the "free" box is really a prepayment.

The deepest cuts on the flyer

By Giant's own printed percentages:

  • Sunshine Bay Scallop 40-60, 400g: 2 for $8.80 (was $24, 63% off)
  • NZ Dazzle or Ambrosia apples 500g: any 2 for $6 (up to 49% off, to 20 Sep only)
  • China broccoli: 3 for $2.80 (was $5.40, 48% off)
  • Spain donut peach 500g: $4.95 (was $8.95, 44% off, to 20 Sep only)
  • USA seedless grapes 500g: $6.95 a punnet (was $12, 42% off)
  • Sunshine sutchi fillet or portion 400g: any 2 for $5.80 (was $9.90, 41% off)
  • Driscoll's Peru blueberries 125g: 3 for $9.90 (was $16.35, 39% off)

At the other end, the Fisher's Catch Norwegian salmon portion at $18.90 is only 7% off its $20.50 usual price, and the croissant multipacks save at most 12%.

Fine print worth knowing

  • Two end dates. Most of the flyer runs 17 to 23 September. The "4 Days Price Off" block, 14 items, runs 17 to 20 September: the NZ apples, donut peach and nectarine, leafy vegetables, Seara chicken thighs, Fisher's Catch salmon, Fuji Bakery cakes, Nescafé, Jin Huang rice, Jamiesons Run wine, KitKat, Scott kitchen towel, Kao Magiclean and Fab.
  • Half the offers are multi-buys. 34 of the 68 prices are "any 2", "any 3", "2 for", "3 for", "5 for" or Buy 1 Get 1 Free. Buy one and you pay the shelf price.
  • Oliver's chicken nuggets are any 3 for $10.95, not $10.95 a pack. The "was $14.55" is for three.
  • Store to store. Giant's small print says availability of promotions may vary between stores, stocks are limited, traders are not allowed, an exclusion list applies and clearance items are not included.
  • The meat and seafood counter prices are per 100g, for example whole salmon at $1.79/100g and Malaysian tiger prawns at $1.99/100g.

Tips

  • Hold a CHAS card? Use it this week. Giant's Double Your CHAS Savings is 6% off at all Giant stores to 25 September, and Giant's CHAS FAQ says it applies on items already on promotion. That takes the Häagen-Dazs pair to about $18.61. Alcohol is excluded.
  • Do the Buy 1 Get 1 Free lines only if you will use both. Otherwise the Dynamo capsules and Clear Men are cheaper at FairPrice this week.
  • Go before Sunday for the laundry powder and fruit. Fab 3kg at $7.90 and the apples, peaches and nectarines drop off after 20 September.
  • Ice cream needs a cold bag. Two 473ml tubs soften fast on a bus ride home, so shop for them last.
