Decathlon Singapore is running its 9.9 Smashing Sale from 5 to 10 September, and a red strip sits across every page of decathlon.sg repeating the same three promises: up to 70% off, free delivery, and an extra $15 off with Atome.

> Quick view: 5 to 10 Sep 2026. Up to 70% off, but only on products sold and shipped by Decathlon. Free standard delivery from a $40 basket instead of the usual $79.90, which is a $2.90 saving. $15 Atome voucher, but you need to spend $129 and the vouchers are first-come, first-served. Flash sales and Decathlon's first 9.9 livestream at 8pm on Wednesday 9 September.

The three promises, priced

The banner reads well. Read against Decathlon's own delivery table and its own Atome page, two of the three shrink considerably.

The banner saysWhat Decathlon's own pages say
Up to 70% offTrue on Decathlon-branded stock. The campaign artwork's asterisk reads *"Products sold and shipped by Decathlon"*, and the deals FAQ excludes partner brands and Second Life items.
Free deliveryFree standard shipping from $40 instead of $79.90. Standard shipping costs $2.90, so the perk is worth $2.90 and only between those two numbers.
Extra $15 off with AtomeNeeds a spend of $129 or more, claimed in the Atome app before payment. Vouchers are "strictly limited" and first-come, first-served.

None of that makes the sale bad. It makes the banner a headline rather than a summary, which is worth knowing before you add a $35 pair of shorts to a cart expecting free postage.

The delivery maths, in full

This is the part most 9.9 write-ups skip, because it needs Decathlon's standing rate card rather than the campaign page. Here is what Decathlon charges the rest of the year, from its own delivery options page:

OptionClick and CollectHome delivery
2-hour, sporting goods up to 20kgFreeNot available
Guaranteed Next Day, no bikes or bulkyNot available$7.90, free above $99.90
Standard 2-3 days, up to 20kgFree$2.90, free above $79.90
Standard, bicycles and bulky equipmentFree, experience stores only, not for bulky equipment$24.90
Marketplace, 2-4 daysNot availablePartner sets the fee

The 9.9 line, worded on Decathlon's landing page as "free shipping with min. spend $40", moves one number in that table: the $79.90 becomes $40. That is a real saving of $2.90 for anyone whose basket lands in the gap, and nothing at all for anyone above $79.90, who was already getting free standard shipping.

What Decathlon has not said is whether the $40 threshold reaches the other rows. Next Day delivery normally becomes free above $99.90, and bicycles and bulky equipment carry a flat $24.90 regardless of basket size. Neither is mentioned in the 9.9 wording, so assume they are unchanged until checkout tells you otherwise.

One more thing worth putting straight, because the banner bundles it in. Decathlon's own page for its 2-hour Click and Collect service says it covers over 6,000 products and is "free of charge with no min. spend". That is its permanent policy, not a 9.9 concession. If you live or work near a Decathlon store, the delivery promotion in this sale is worth nothing to you, because your cheapest option was already free.

(Decathlon's delivery page is also mildly at war with itself: the rate table at the top says 2-hour Click and Collect, while the explainer text further down still describes collection "in 4 hours". The table and the dedicated Click and Collect page both say 2 hours, so that is the number to trust.)

What "up to 70% off" actually covers

Decathlon's clearance section is permanent. On 6 September it listed 29,989 products, and its wider deals section listed 31,420, on a catalogue the site's own search box describes as 18,000 products from 60 sports. In other words, clearance is not a 9.9 creation; it is where Decathlon parks marked-down stock all year, and 9.9 is the week it points a banner at it.

Two exclusions matter:

  • The campaign artwork's own footnote: *"Products sold and shipped by Decathlon."* Marketplace items shipped by partners sit outside it.
  • Decathlon's deals FAQ: the promotion *"is only applicable for all Decathlon products and does not include non-Decathlon (i.e. Yonex, Molten, Manduka etc.) & Second Life products."*

So if you were planning to use 9.9 to buy a Yonex racket or a Manduka mat from Decathlon, the headline discount is not aimed at you. There are separate partner-brand and marketplace deal pages, and Decathlon advertises those at up to 70% off too, but they run as their own promotion rather than under the Decathlon-products banner.

The percentages Decathlon chose to put on its own artwork are a fair guide to the top end in each category: 33% off a running shoe, 33% off a barbell and dumbbell set, and 24% off a kids' bike. The 70% is the ceiling in clearance, not the shape of the sale.

The three 9.9 sportswear sales, side by side

All three of the big sportswear 9.9 sales in Singapore close on the same day, which makes this an unusually easy comparison.

BrandHeadlineEnds
DecathlonUp to 70% off Decathlon-own products, free shipping from $4010 Sep
NikeLabelled up to 40% off, with a buy-2 rail that works out at a flat 50%10 Sep
adidasExtra 30% off in cart, on already-marked-down stock10 Sep

The useful distinction is what each discount is applied to. Decathlon's is deepest on its own house brands, which start cheap, so 70% off a $12 base layer is a smaller cash saving than 30% off a $180 pair of adidas. If you are buying equipment rather than branded apparel, Decathlon is the only one of the three in the conversation at all.

If you are buying anyway

  • Use Click and Collect. Free, no minimum, 2 hours, over 6,000 items. It beats the sale's own delivery offer by $2.90 every time.
  • If you must have it delivered and your basket is $40 to $79.90, buy during these six days. That is the only window where the $2.90 disappears.
  • Do not stretch a basket to $129 for the Atome $15. Adding $50 of gear you did not want to save $15 is not a saving, and the voucher may already be gone.
  • Watch 8pm on Wednesday. Decathlon has flagged flash sales around its first 9.9 livestream, which is the only scheduled moment in the week where prices are expected to move again.
  • Check the stock line, not just the price. Decathlon's own FAQ says the promotion runs on a while-stocks-last basis, and clearance sizing goes first.
