How to choose

  • Brightness decides the room, not the brand. The 400-700 lumen portables here need a dark bedroom or blackout curtains. For a living room with daylight, look at 2,500 lumens and up (Epson CO-FH02, EH-TW6250, XGIMI Horizon 20, Hisense PT1).
  • Lumens are not all measured the same way. XGIMI quotes ISO lumens and Epson quotes white and colour brightness to ISO 21118, so compare within a brand rather than across brands.
  • Check the throw distance. A standard projector needs roughly 2.5-3m from the wall for a 100-inch picture. An ultra-short-throw unit like the Hisense PT1 sits a few centimetres from the wall, which suits HDB living rooms where the sofa is close to the wall.
  • Built-in apps save a dongle. Every pick here has Google TV or Android TV with Netflix, except that the CO-FH02's Android TV comes as a plug-in stick.
  • A plain white wall is fine to start. Buy a screen later if you go 4K; an ALR screen helps most in bright rooms.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a good projector cost in Singapore?

On 15 October 2026, smart 1080p projectors cost S$369 (XGIMI Vibe One) to S$879 (Epson CO-FH02) at Harvey Norman and COURTS. 4K models started at S$1,799 (Epson EH-TW6250) and S$2,399 (XGIMI Horizon 20), and the Hisense PT1 ultra-short-throw laser was S$3,999 on Hisense's own store after its S$1,000 official discount.

Can I use a projector in the day in a Singapore living room?

Yes, if it is bright enough. Aim for about 2,500 lumens or more, such as the Epson CO-FH02 (3,000 lumens), EH-TW6250 (2,800), XGIMI Horizon 20 (3,200 ISO) or Hisense PT1 (2,500), and close the blinds partly. Portable models at 400-700 lumens look washed out in daylight and are best after dark.

Is there a promo code for projectors at COURTS?

COURTS' online code GET gives S$50 off a S$799 spend, rising to S$300 off S$2,999. Projectors are not on its exclusion list (TVs and printers are), so it should work on the Epson CO-FH02, EH-TW6250 and XGIMI Horizon 20. It is online only, while stocks last, and cannot be combined with other vouchers.

Which portable projector has the longest battery life?

Of the picks here, the XGIMI MoGo 4 lasts the longest at up to 2.5 hours on its own and up to 5 hours on the PowerBase stand (S$1,099 as a bundle at Harvey Norman). The XGIMI Vibe One runs up to 1.2 hours of video. The Elfin Flip Plus and Epson EF-61 have no battery.
