Singapore is losing the Korean chain that taught a lot of us what army stew was. Seoul Yummy will close its last remaining outlet at Kallang Wave Mall on 22 October 2026, and the brand is being retired with it. This is not a downsizing. There is no relocation to wait for.
> Quick view: Seoul Yummy's final outlet, Kallang Wave Mall #01-47, closes 22 Oct 2026. Until then the restaurant is running 18% off its signature Korean army stew to mark 18 years, and the discount is not automatic: you have to say "I will miss Seoul Yummy" to a staff member. Daily 11am to 9.30pm, last order 9pm.
What is closing, and when
| Detail | What to know |
|---|---|
| Outlet | Seoul Yummy, Kallang Wave Mall, 1 Stadium Place #01-47, Singapore 397628 |
| Final day | 22 October 2026 |
| Hours | Daily 11am to 9.30pm, last order 9pm |
| Phone | 8881 7408 |
| Founded | 2008, homegrown, 18 years in operation |
| Owner | Gratify Group, which also runs Korean pizza chain Pizza Maru |
The brand's own Locate Us page already lists exactly one address, and it is this one. Older directory listings that still show Seoul Yummy at Plaza Singapura, Bugis+ or NEX are out of date. At its peak the chain also traded at ION Orchard, Bugis+ and Marina Square.
The 18% off, and the line you have to say
To mark 18 years, Seoul Yummy is taking 18% off its signature Korean army stew from now until 22 October 2026 at the Kallang Wave outlet. The mechanic is unusual and it is the part people will get wrong: there is no code, no app and no voucher. You tell a staff member "I will miss Seoul Yummy", and they apply it.
Off the brand's own published menu, that works out to:
| Signature army stew | Menu price | With 18% off | You save |
|---|---|---|---|
| Daebak Army Stew (spicy chicken, spicy pork collar, beef slices) | $43.80 | $35.92 | $7.88 |
| Cheesy Odeng Army Stew (fish cake skewers, shredded cheese) | $43.80 | $35.92 | $7.88 |
| Jja Jang Pork Army Stew (non-spicy) | $43.80 | $35.92 | $7.88 |
| Spicy Seafood Army Stew (clams, octopus, prawns) | $44.80 | $36.74 | $8.06 |
These are sharing pots, not single portions, so the saving lands on a table of two or three rather than on one person's lunch.
What the 18% does not appear to cover
The discount is described specifically as the signature Korean army stew. That matters, because on Seoul Yummy's own menu the Mini Army Stew is a separate section at $14.80 to $16.80, and the Cheese Pot range ($43.80 to $44.80) is separate again. If you go in expecting 18% off the whole bill, or off a mini stew, ask at the counter before you order rather than at the till. The restaurant has not published a written terms page for this offer.
Why it is closing
Gratify Group founder and chief executive Frank Lau told CNA Lifestyle that the company has been progressively closing Seoul Yummy outlets as their leases expire, and that it decided to focus on growing other brands and concepts in the group "to stay competitive and relevant to changing consumer preferences". The Kallang Wave closure specifically is tied to the mall's ongoing asset enhancement initiative. On the brand itself, Lau said the company has "decided it's a good time to sunset the brand". Staff at the outlet are being moved to other Gratify Group brands.
The short version for diners: the lease ending is the trigger, but the brand is being retired, not rehoused.
What this means if you want one last bowl
- Do not save it for the last week. A final day at a restaurant with 18 years of regulars is the worst possible time to turn up hungry, and the mall is next to the National Stadium, so an event night makes it worse. Late September or early October is the calm window.
- Say the line. The 18% is staff-applied. Say "I will miss Seoul Yummy" when you order, not after the bill is printed.
- Watch the last order time. The kitchen stops at 9pm, half an hour before the shutters.
- Check the day you go. Neither the restaurant's website nor its menu pages carry a closure notice yet, so hours in the final fortnight could move. A quick call to 8881 7408 costs nothing.
Where to get army stew after 22 October
Budae jjigae is no longer rare here, which is partly Seoul Yummy's own doing. Most Korean BBQ buffets carry a stew course, and several a la carte Korean restaurants list army stew as a main. Our Korean guides below have the current field and prices.

Closure date, the 18% offer, its "I will miss Seoul Yummy" mechanic and the statements from Gratify Group founder and CEO Frank Lau were reported by CNA Lifestyle on 7 September 2026; menu prices, the single remaining address and the opening hours are taken from Seoul Yummy's own website on the same day. Seoul Yummy has not published a closure notice or written terms of its own, so confirm before making a special trip.
