Xiaomi's REDMI Note 17 campaign banner shows four prices. Its terms and conditions publish seven, and the three the banner leaves out are where the arithmetic gets interesting.

> Quick view: S$319 to S$769 on mi.com/sg and the Mi app · S$50 off the smaller configurations, S$80 off the bigger ones · free REDMI Buds 8 or REDMI Headphone Neo on every model except the two 4G REDMI Note 17s · runs to 11.59pm on 30 Sep 2026, not 2 Sep · Singapore residents 18 and above.

The campaign banner prints only four of those seven: S$669, S$499, S$399 and S$319. It never shows the 6+256 REDMI Note 17 at S$349, the Pro 5G 8+256 at S$519, or the Pro Max 8+512 at S$769. Two of those three are S$80 cuts, so the banner shows only one of the campaign's three deepest discounts.

The S$50 upgrade that now costs S$20

Look at the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G. At list price, going from 6GB to 8GB of RAM costs S$50 (S$549 to S$599). During the early bird, the 6GB model drops S$50 and the 8GB model drops S$80, so the gap between them collapses to S$20: S$499 against S$519.

That is the single best line in this campaign. Two extra gigabytes of RAM for twenty dollars, on a phone you are keeping for years, is not a decision worth agonising over. Nowhere else on the ladder does the discount change size mid-model: the two REDMI Note 17 configurations stay S$30 apart, and the two Pro Max ones stay S$100 apart.

The one rung to skip

The 4G REDMI Note 17 6+256 at S$349 is the awkward middle of this range. For S$50 more, the REDMI Note 17 5G 6+256 at S$399 gives you the same memory, adds 5G, and comes with a free pair of REDMI Buds 8 that Xiaomi's own product comparison prices at S$59.90. You are paying S$50 to receive roughly S$60 of earbuds, with the modem thrown in.

If your budget really stops below that, take the 6+128 at S$319 instead. It is the cheapest way into the range and, at S$50 off S$369, the deepest cut in percentage terms (13.6%, against 9.4% on the S$849 Pro Max). Just know that neither 4G configuration comes with a gift.

It does not end on 2 September

Deal listings have this filed as a pre-order that shuts on 2 September. Xiaomi's own terms for the REDMI Note 17 Series Open Sale set the campaign period as 27 August 2026, 8pm, to 30 September 2026, 11.59pm Singapore time, and state that purchases made after that get neither the early bird discount nor the free gift. You have the full month.

The fine print

  1. mi.com/sg and the Mi Store app only. Xiaomi Authorised Dealers sell the phones, but the terms say the free gift may vary there, so ask what is in the box before you pay.
  2. One gift per phone, matched to the serial number, first come first served while stocks last, not exchangeable for cash, and not covered by Xiaomi's standard warranty.
  3. Singapore residents aged 18 and above as of the campaign start.
  4. 0% interest instalments are available on Xiaomi's own website only, and the exact tenure depends on your card issuer.
  5. Xiaomi reserves the right to shorten, extend or change the campaign and to swap the gifts for items of equal or greater value.

About that S$1,266

Several write-ups describe this campaign as coming with "up to S$1,266 in free gifts". That figure is on neither Xiaomi Singapore's campaign page nor its terms and conditions. What the campaign page actually says is "Free Gift Worth up to SGD65.9". The larger number is a valuation of service cover, and Xiaomi does list a good deal of it: a 24-month quality assurance, one free screen replacement within 24 months, one free battery replacement within 48 months, 30% off Xiaomi Care during the launch period, double Mi Points, a six-month Google One trial with 200GB, and a two-month YouTube Premium trial. All worth having. None of it is a gift you can hold.

Two smaller stackables Xiaomi does publish: a coupon of up to 10% off for accounts that have never bought from mi.com, and a 5% in-app coupon with the code XIAOMI in the Mi Store app. The terms do not say whether either combines with the early bird price, so check the basket total before you confirm.
