Marina Square's Sesame Street art show is back. Sesame Street Magical Art World Chapter 2 opens on Thursday 1 October 2026 and runs to the end of the year, with new artists, new rooms and the same deal as before: no ticket to buy, just a same-day receipt from a shop in the mall.

What's inside
Chapter 1 took over the mall's main atrium in June. Chapter 2 moves into three units on Level 3 and adds themed rooms, according to Marina Square's event page:
- Reflections of Neon: a dark room with neon lights, pop-up words and a full-length selfie mirror.
- Floral Fantasy: a giant flower installation and pink walls built around paintings by artist Rori Hee.
- Colourful Shadow Play: coloured lights that turn your shadow into several colours at once.
- Pipe Beats: xylophones to play and pipe openings to listen into, with artworks by Geoffrey Bouillot.
- Infinity Lens: fisheye mirrors that bend and multiply your reflection.
- Doodle Wonderland: a chalk wall of Sesame Street outlines to colour in.
- Painting Gallery: works by Rori Hee, Geoffrey Bouillot, Arkiv Vilmansa, MAW, Sabek, Sol Felpeto, Super Future Kid, Tatsuhito Horikoshi, Timothy Gatenby, VAGAB, Xizi Liu and Yuya Hashizume.
- Finale Experience: short videos on each artist, then a retail counter selling artist merchandise.
Kids get an activity booklet at the entrance. Finish it and they receive a limited-edition sticker with the artists' work, while stocks last. When The Straits Times previewed the show with a group of primary school pupils on 28 September, the doodle wall was the favourite.
How the free pass works
- Shop somewhere in Marina Square first. You need a physical receipt dated the same day: $20 on Monday to Thursday, $30 on Friday to Sunday. Up to 2 same-day receipts can be combined. Receipts from the atrium fairs do not count.
- Go to #03-153 and present the receipt for a 30-minute admission pass.
- Pick a slot. There are 11 a day: 12.30pm, 1.15pm, 2pm, 2.45pm, 3.30pm, 4.15pm, 5pm, 5.45pm, 6.30pm, 7.15pm and 8pm, subject to availability.
- Each pass admits up to 2 people, and each visitor can redeem up to 2 passes a day, so one adult can cover a family of four with double the spend ($40 on a weekday, $60 on a weekend).
The thermal flask, 1 Oct-8 Nov
Spend $100 in one day (up to 3 same-day receipts, atrium fair receipts excluded) and you can claim a 22oz / 650ml Creative Streets thermal flask, in a pink Super Future Kid design or a blue Rori Hee design. You must be a registered member on the Marina Square app, it is one per member per day, and it runs while stocks last.
Around the mall
Four large inflatables are also up around Marina Square: a 7-metre Cookie Monster on the Level 3 Roof Top Garden facing the Esplanade, Count von Count by Edgar Plans at the Level 2 Linkbridge Atrium, Elmo by Jun Oson in front of Encik Tan (#02-275), and Bert by Edgar Plans in front of Daily & Co (#02-110). These are free to see and photograph.
Fine print and tips
- Weekdays are cheaper. Friday counts as the weekend rate, so Children's Day (Friday 2 October) needs a $30 receipt.
- Keep the paper receipt. The mall asks for physical receipts. If a shop only sends an e-receipt, ask for a printed copy at the counter.
- Go early in the school holidays. Slots are first come, first served, and the November-December break will be the busiest stretch.
- This is one of the mall's last big shows. Marina Square Shopping Mall closes on 31 March 2027 for redevelopment. Chapter 3 is slated from 8 January 2027 (the mall's page says to 28 March; The Straits Times reported 21 March).
- The exhibition itself is indoors, so it is a decent haze-day or rainy-day option.
