FairPrice Cuts Egg and Chicken Prices Until 31 Dec 2026: 30 Eggs for $4.95, 1kg Frozen Chicken for $2.50

FairPrice Group announced on 1 October 2026 that it will lower and hold the price of two protein staples at more than 100 FairPrice supermarkets until 31 December 2026. A 30-egg tray of Dasoon Fresh Eggs drops from $6.45 to $4.95, and a 1kg Seara Frozen Chicken (Griller) drops from $6.00 to $2.50, both the lowest since 2021. The limit is two trays and two packs per customer, and FairPrice Finest, FairPrice Xtra and FairPrice Online are excluded.

FairPrice Group announced on 1 October 2026 that it will lower and hold the prices of eggs and frozen chicken at more than 100 FairPrice supermarkets until 31 December 2026. The group says both items are now at their lowest prices since 2021, and the move is part of a year-end push to return over $2.5 million in savings to shoppers.

> Quick view: 30 Dasoon Fresh Eggs for $4.95 (usual $6.45) and a 1kg Seara Frozen Chicken (Griller) for $2.50 (usual $6.00), from now to 31 Dec 2026. Limit 2 trays and 2 packs per customer. FairPrice supermarkets only: not FairPrice Finest, FairPrice Xtra or FairPrice Online.

The two items and the numbers

ItemUsual pricePromo priceYou save
Dasoon Fresh Eggs, tray of 30 (50g each)$6.45$4.95$1.50 (about 23%)
Seara Frozen Chicken, Griller (1kg)$6.00$2.50$3.50 (about 58%)

On the eggs, that works out to roughly 16.5 cents an egg instead of 21.5 cents. The chicken is the bigger cut by far: well over half off a whole bird.

The limit, and what a full haul costs

Purchases are capped at two trays of eggs and two packs of chicken per customer. Buy the full allowance and you pay $14.90 instead of $24.90, which is $10 saved on one trip.

The release says "per customer" without saying whether the cap is per transaction or per day. If you want to stock up over several visits, check with the store.

Where it applies (and where it does not)

The prices are for FairPrice Supermarkets only. FairPrice spells out three exclusions: FairPrice Finest, FairPrice Xtra and FairPrice Online. The convenience formats, Cheers and FairPrice Xpress, are not mentioned at all, so do not count on them either.

Since these are specific brands, look for the Dasoon egg tray and the Seara Griller pack. Other egg brands and fresh chilled chicken are not part of this price.

Also extended: fruit and vegetable discounts

FairPrice says it is extending discounts on selected fruits and vegetables until the end of 2026. The release does not list which items, so watch the shelf tags.

Does the CHAS 6% stack?

The egg and chicken release is silent on this. FairPrice's earlier announcement on the doubled CHAS discount (6% for Blue cardholders on Thursdays, Orange on Fridays, until 1 January 2027) says it combines with existing store promotions, so these items should qualify on your day. Confirm at the counter before you count on it.

What it means for you

Eggs and chicken are the two cheapest proteins in most Singapore kitchens, and both have crept up since 2021. Group CEO Vipul Chawla said FairPrice partnered suppliers to increase supply so it could lower prices and hold them through year-end. For a household that buys a tray of eggs and a chicken every week, this is about $5 back a week, or roughly $65 over the 13 weeks to year-end.

FairPrice says it has now committed more than $7.5 million in 2026 to help customers with daily essentials, after earlier price freezes on chilled pork over Chinese New Year and on 500+ essentials from April to August.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get the $4.95 eggs and $2.50 chicken at FairPrice Xtra, Finest or FairPrice Online?

No. FairPrice Group's release says the promotional prices are available at FairPrice Supermarkets only, and it names the exclusions: FairPrice Finest, FairPrice Xtra and FairPrice Online. That matters if your nearest big store is an Xtra hypermarket or you usually shop online. The release also does not name the group's convenience formats (Cheers and FairPrice Xpress), so do not expect the prices there either. Head to a regular FairPrice supermarket; the group says more than 100 outlets take part.

How much do I actually save, and is there a purchase limit?

Each egg tray saves $1.50 ($6.45 to $4.95, about 23% off, or roughly 16.5 cents an egg instead of 21.5 cents). Each 1kg chicken saves $3.50 ($6.00 to $2.50, about 58% off). Purchases are capped at two trays of eggs and two packs of chicken per customer, so a full allowance costs $14.90 instead of $24.90 and saves $10. The release says 'per customer' but does not say whether the cap resets per transaction or per day, so ask at the counter if you plan to return for more.

Does the CHAS 6% discount apply on top of the lower prices?

This release does not say. FairPrice's separate CHAS announcement (2 September 2026) states that the 6% for CHAS Blue (Thursdays) and Orange (Fridays) cardholders can be combined with existing store promotions at FairPrice supermarkets, which suggests these items should qualify on your card's day. Because the egg and chicken release itself is silent on stacking, confirm at the cashier before relying on it.
