EnergyOne, the gym chain run by SAFRA, has opened a September sign-up promotion that pairs a $61 joining fee with an additional 15% off the subscription, and throws in a free gym day at each club's Open House. It runs 1 to 30 September 2026 and it is for new sign-ups only.

> Quick view: $61 joining fee (usual $220 for guests, $190 for a SAFRA Platinum member) plus an extra 15% off the subscription, 1 to 30 Sep 2026, new sign-ups only. On a 12-month guest All Day membership that is $826 instead of $1,120. Free gym access on your club's Open House day: 5 Sep for Jurong, Mount Faber, Punggol, Tampines and Toa Payoh, 6 Sep for Yishun, 12 Sep for Choa Chu Kang. Watch the tenure rule: the promo page lists 6, 8 and 12 months, but both sign-up pages say the $61 fee applies to 12 and 18 months only.

What you actually get

SAFRA's own promotion page lists two things for new sign-ups between 1 and 30 September 2026:

  1. A special joining fee of $61, against a usual price the page states as $220.
  2. An additional 15% off the prevailing subscription fee.

The word "additional" is doing real work here. The terms spell out that this 15% comes from the BE@SAFRA September promotion and is applied on top of the prevailing EnergyOne Q3 (July to September) promotion. The Q3 promotion is the SG61 offer that put the joining fee at $61 in the first place, so the two genuinely stack. That matters because the same page also carries the standard line about the promotion not being valid with other discounts, and read alone that line would tell you the opposite.

Eligible membership types are Platinum, Dependent, Term All-Day and Term Off-Peak.

What it costs on EnergyOne's own rate cards

All rates below are read off EnergyOne's two sign-up pages and are inclusive of 9% GST. The 12-month column is used because it is the one tenure that appears on the promotion page *and* on both sign-up pages.

Membership (12 months)Usual subscriptionWith 15% offUsual feeTotal usualTotal in SeptemberYou save
Term All Day (guest)$75/mo$63.75/mo$220$1,120$826$294
Term Off-Peak (guest)$55/mo$46.75/mo$220$880$622$258
Platinum (SAFRA member)$50/mo$42.50/mo$190$790$571$219
Dependent (SAFRA member)$40/mo$34/mo$95$575$469$106

All-in, that works out to about $68.83 a month for a guest on All Day access, $51.83 on Off-Peak, $47.58 for a SAFRA Platinum member and $39.08 for a Dependent.

The $220 saving headline only applies to guests. $220 is the admin fee on the Term memberships, which are for Singaporeans and PRs who are not SAFRA members. A SAFRA member signing up for Platinum has a usual joining fee of $190, and Dependent is $95. So a Dependent member saves $34 on the fee, not $159.

Off-Peak is not a small window. EnergyOne defines Off-Peak as weekdays 6.30am to 5pm, and weekends 6.30am to 1pm plus 8pm to closing. If you train in the morning or late on a weekend, Off-Peak at $46.75 a month is the value pick on this list.

Free gym access on your club's Open House day

The promotion also opens the gyms for free on each club's Open House date. The dates are split across three days:

  • Saturday 5 September 2026: SAFRA Jurong, Mount Faber, Punggol, Tampines and Toa Payoh
  • Sunday 6 September 2026: SAFRA Yishun
  • Saturday 12 September 2026: SAFRA Choa Chu Kang

Both Saturdays fall inside the September school holidays (5 to 13 September), so these are easy days to bring someone along and let them try the floor before committing.

Worth knowing what that free day is worth: EnergyOne's per-entry card prices a whole-day weekend or public holiday entry at $17.50 for Singaporeans and PRs and $11.50 for SAFRA members. On a weekday it is $8.75 (SAFRA) or $13.10 (public) off-peak, rising to $14.20 or $21.80 at peak from 5pm.

Three things the two pages do not agree on

This is the part to check at the counter, because EnergyOne's promotion page and its own sign-up pages tell different stories.

1. The 6-month membership. The September promotion page lists 6, 8 and 12-month terms as eligible. Both sign-up pages say the opposite about the fee: "Discounted joining fees apply only to 12 and 18 months memberships. This offer is not applicable to 6 months membership." So a 6-month sign-up looks likely to get the 15% off the subscription but pay the full $190 or $220 fee.

2. The 8-month membership. No published rate card lists an 8-month tenure at all. Both tables run 6, 12 and 18 months only. Ask what an 8-month subscription actually costs before you sign.

3. The 18-month membership. The sign-up pages put 18 months squarely inside the $61 offer, and 18 months is the cheapest per-month rate on both cards ($45 Platinum, $70 All Day). But the September page does not list 18 months among the tenures eligible for the extra 15%. If you want the longest term, confirm whether the 15% travels with it.

A labelling trap on the guest page

The guest sign-up page is headed "Term Memberships (All Day/Off-Peak)", but the price table on it is headed "Membership Tenure | Platinum | Dependent", reusing the column names from the SAFRA members' page. The numbers underneath are the Term rates, not the Platinum rates.

That is easy to misread. "Platinum" costs $50 a month on the SAFRA members' page and $80 a month on the guest page, because the second one is not Platinum at all. Read the page heading, not the column heading, and confirm which membership you are being quoted.

The cheapest route might not be this promotion

If you are 16 to 21 and a Singaporean or PR, the Student membership is $35 a month on a 12-month term with a one-time $25 admin fee, and it carries all-day access to all seven gyms. That is $445 for the year, which undercuts every promotional price in the table above, including the $571 a SAFRA Platinum member would pay.

The catch is stated on the same page: "Membership is ongoing and is not eligible for any promotion." So students cannot take the $61 fee or the 15%, and do not need to.

Two other standing discounts sit on the guest page and are easy to miss: an additional 15% off the subscription for MRO and HTNS, valid on both new sign-ups and renewals, and an additional 15% off for SIT students until October 2026.

The fine print

  • Promotion runs 1 to 30 September 2026 and is for new EnergyOne sign-ups only. Renewals are not included.
  • Eligible types are Platinum, Dependent, Term All-Day and Term Off-Peak. Platinum and Dependent are strictly for active SAFRA members, and your SAFRA membership must stay valid beyond the gym membership period.
  • Minimum age is 16.
  • All quoted fees include prevailing GST.
  • Both the subscription and the joining fee are payable in advance, and all fees paid are non-refundable. Memberships are non-transferable.
  • Instalment plans exist for POSB/DBS credit cards on transactions of $400 and above (subject to an admin fee), plus Visa Instalment Solutions on Standard Chartered and Trust Bank cards, GrabPay and Grab PayLater, and Atome.
  • Gym payment transactions close at 10pm daily, so do not turn up at 9.55pm expecting to sign.
  • The promotion is valid at participating EnergyOne gyms, and EnergyOne can amend the mechanics without notice.

The seven gyms

SAFRA Choa Chu Kang (28 Choa Chu Kang Dr, 6.30am to midnight), SAFRA Jurong (333 Boon Lay Way), SAFRA Mount Faber (2 Telok Blangah Way), SAFRA Punggol (9 Sentul Crescent, 6am to midnight), SAFRA Tampines (1/A Tampines Street 92), SAFRA Toa Payoh (293 Toa Payoh Lor 6) and SAFRA Yishun (60 Yishun Avenue 4). The other five run 6.30am to 10.30pm daily.
