How the launch works
- In stores: sales start at store opening, and at 6.30am at 24-hour stores.
- Queue rule: everyone buying must stay in the queue the whole time, and nobody can join you in your spot.
- Online: only on the Starbucks LazMall shop, from 12pm. The Starbucks Online Store is not selling it.
- Selected stores: Starbucks has not published which stores carry the restricted pieces. If you want the Bearista set or the Piglet glass cup, LazMall at noon is the surer bet.
What to know before you queue
- The blind box set saves nothing. Four singles at $14.90 cost exactly $59.60, the same as the set. Buy the set only if you want all four characters with no repeats.
- The Tigger tumbler is $10 more than the Pooh and Eeyore tumblers of the same 16oz size.
- One of everything is $580.50, and Starbucks reminds buyers that a Starbucks Card holds a maximum of $300. Reload in the app before you go, and bring a second payment method if you are buying for friends.
- Pay with a reloaded card for speed. Starbucks asks shoppers to top up their digital Starbucks Card in the app first so the queue moves faster.
What it means for you
This is a collectors' drop, not a discount. If you only want a cute everyday mug, the $34.90 beehive mug is the one item that is easy to get. The Bearista set and glass cups are the likely sell-outs, so decide early whether you are queueing or refreshing LazMall at noon.
