Sakura Chicken, the premium free-range line from Singapore poultry producer Kee Song, has landed at Giant, and the launch promotion runs 3 to 16 September 2026 at 22 named stores.

The biggest discount is not the best buy
The flyer leads with the breast bundle because it carries the deepest cut, 10% off. By weight it is the third cheapest thing on the page. The Cut 12 Portion takes the smallest cut on the flyer, 4%, just 60 cents, and lands at $13.90 a kilo, the lowest per-kilo price of the four.
One honest caveat on that comparison: the Cut 12 Portion is a whole bird broken down into 12 bone-in pieces, so part of that kilo is bone. The boneless legs are pure meat, which is why they sit at the top of the per-kilo column at $20.71. If you are buying to fill a freezer, the Cut 12 Portion is the value pick. If you are buying meat you do not have to work around, the boneless bundle at $7.25 a pack is the one to compare.
Where the promotion loses to buying direct
Kee Song runs its own online shop, and it prices the same product list. At the time of writing:
- Fresh Sakura Chicken Cut (12 pieces) 1kg: $13.20 on Kee Song's shop, reduced from $14.50. That is 70 cents under Giant's $13.90 "special offer", the one line on the flyer where the supermarket promotion is beaten by the producer.
- Fresh Sakura Chicken Drumstick 200g: $3.60 on Kee Song's shop. Giant's promotion price of $3.10 wins by 50 cents, and Giant's ordinary $3.40 already beats it.
- Fresh Sakura Chicken Boneless Leg 350g: $8.20 on Kee Song's shop, against $7.25 a pack in Giant's 2 for $14.50 bundle.
The catch on going direct is the basket: Kee Song's shop gives free delivery only from $59, so a single pack of chicken is not a sensible order. Giant wins on three of the four lines, and on the fourth you would need to be buying enough to clear $59 for it to matter.
The $30 mechanic, read from Giant's own flyer
Giant's flyer and its homepage tile both carry a yuu Rewards Club lucky draw: spend $30 on Sakura Chicken and stand a chance to win 100,000 yuu Points, which the flyer values at $500. Ten winners will be selected, with 1 million yuu Points up for grabs, marked exclusive at Giant, 3 to 30 September 2026, T&Cs apply.
That date range matters. The draw runs two weeks past the 16 September price promo, so it is still open after the launch prices roll off.
Most of the coverage of this launch has led instead with a free Sakura thermal bag worth $28 on a $30 spend. That offer appears on a separate Sakura Chicken campaign poster, is limited to 3 September only and is marked while stocks last. Giant's own flyer does not mention the bag at all. Both use the same $30 threshold, so one $30 basket on launch day would qualify for both wherever the bag is actually being handed out, but the draw is the mechanic Giant has put its name to.
If you are shopping to the $30 line, two routes:
- 1 boneless legs bundle ($14.50) plus 5 drumstick packs ($15.50) = exactly $30.00, for 1.7kg.
- 2 Cut 12 Portions ($27.80) plus 1 drumstick pack ($3.10) = $30.90, for 2.2kg. Ninety cents more, and 500g more chicken.
Free sampling, and where
Giant's flyer schedules two sampling runs, both 9am to 5pm:
- 4 to 6 September 2026 at Choa Chu Kang and Hougang Green 2
- 11 to 13 September 2026 at IMM and Woodlands Mart

The fine print
Straight off the bottom of Giant's flyer: availability of promotions may vary from store to store, while stocks last, no traders allowed, an exclusion list applies, clearance items are not included, and prices shown were correct at time of printing.
On the product claims, Giant and Sakura Chicken describe the line as organically and sustainably farmed, fed with lactobacillus, in-house free range, no antibiotics ever and ethical humane farming. Those are the brands' own claims, carried here as stated rather than independently tested.
One practical note that the flyer does not answer: Kee Song sells Sakura Chicken in both halal and non-halal lines, and the fresh cut, boneless leg and drumstick SKUs on its own shop are the non-halal versions. Giant's flyer does not say which line is on the shelf, so check the pack.
