Meatsmith is giving away 101 cheeseburgers, free, on Thursday 27 August 2026 from 11.30am at its Telok Ayer smokehouse — to mark being ranked No. 50 on the World's 101 Best Burgers list for 2026, the only Singapore entry inside the global Top 50.

Meatsmith's Happenings page prints the terms twice, which is a good sign for a giveaway this small:
- 101 burgers. One day only. Thursday 27 August, 11.30am onwards.
- Walk in — no booking, no code, no registration.
- One burger per person.
- Takeaway only.
- 101 burgers. When they are gone, they are gone.
There is no purchase requirement — this is a straight giveaway, not a with-purchase redemption.
Where: Meatsmith, 167-169 Telok Ayer Street, Singapore 068620. Telok Ayer MRT (DT18) is a 3-minute walk; Tanjong Pagar (EW15) about 7.
The bit the reposts drop: which burger
The giveaway item is the MSX Single Cheeseburger — Meatsmith describes it as 95g of smoked beef brisket, American cheese, pickles and house sauce.
MSX is Meatsmith Xpress, the brand's takeaway and delivery arm. That is why the giveaway is takeaway only — and it is why this burger does not appear on the dine-in menu at all. On the Xpress menu it is listed at $12.00.
The dine-in burger list is a different set entirely, and these are the numbers people have in their heads when they read "world top-50":

So: $12 a head, roughly $1,212 across all 101 — not the $2,800-plus a wagyu giveaway would come to. Note also that Meatsmith's menu flags the $30 Premium Brisket Burger as its best seller, not the wagyu. None of this makes the freebie less worth having; it just means you should turn up expecting a very good $12 brisket single, not the flagship.
The other bit nobody has flagged: the 3pm shutter
The giveaway page says "from 11.30am onwards" and never names a closing time. Meatsmith's contact page does:
- Monday to Friday: 11.30am – 3.00pm (last order 2.30pm), then 5.30pm till late
27 August 2026 is a Thursday. So the service the giveaway sits inside stops taking orders at 2.30pm and closes at 3pm, and Meatsmith has not said whether unclaimed burgers carry into the 5.30pm dinner sitting — so do not plan around that.
Now add the geography. This is deep CBD on a working Thursday, three minutes from an MRT station, with Telok Ayer, Amoy Street and Tanjong Pagar offices all inside a ten-minute walk. 101 burgers is a queue, not a promotion. The honest read is that it is decided at or near opening.
How to actually get one
- Be there at 11.30am. Not "lunchtime" — opening.
- One body per burger. One per person is a hard cap, so a team of four needs four people in the line.
- Takeaway only, so have somewhere to eat it — the Telok Ayer green space and Amoy Street Food Centre are both a short walk.
- Have a backup lunch. If the 101 go before you reach the counter, Amoy Street Food Centre is right there and the trip is not wasted.
- Do not wait for the evening. Nothing on Meatsmith's page promises leftovers roll into the 5.30pm service.
About the ranking
The list is World's 101 Best Burgers, and its 2026 ranking places Meatsmith at No. 50. That is the highest-placed Singapore entry and the only one inside the global Top 50; the other Singapore name on the full 101 is Smash Street Burger Bar at No. 58. Meatsmith is a brand of Burnt Ends Restaurant Pte Ltd and has run on Telok Ayer Street since 2014, working Southern Pride smokers and 14-hour hickory-smoked brisket.
