Mandai put this on its own promotions page and then said nothing else about it: 1-for-1 draft beers by Brewerkz at Owa Bistro, the new bistro at the Singapore Zoo Entrance. Mandai's name for it is *"Cheers to Wilder Evenings with 1-for-1 Beers"*, and it runs 7 August – 30 September 2026, Monday to Friday, 5:00pm–8:00pm.

The detail everyone misses

Owa Bistro sits in Mandai Wildlife EAST, and Mandai's own FAQ lists Mandai Wildlife EAST as one of three free-to-visit spaces at the reserve — the other two being Mandai Wildlife WEST and the 3.3km Mandai Boardwalk along Upper Seletar Reservoir.

That means you do not need a Singapore Zoo, Bird Paradise, River Wonders or Night Safari ticket to get to the bar. You park, you walk in, you drink. Mandai Wildlife EAST is open daily, 7:00am–10:30pm — three and a half hours past the time the promotion stops.

For a 1-for-1 that most people assume is locked behind a $30-plus admission ticket, that is the whole story.

The offer, exactly as Mandai states it

  • When: every Monday to Friday, 5:00pm–8:00pm.

The fine print worth knowing before you drive up

  1. Weekdays only. There is no Saturday or Sunday version of this. A weekend drive to Mandai for the beer deal is a wasted trip.
  2. It ends at 8pm, not late. Last orders on the offer are inside a three-hour window. This is an after-work wind-down, not a night out.
  3. Prices are not published. Mandai's promotion page names neither the draft price nor which Brewerkz taps qualify. Ask at the counter which beers are in the promotion before the first round — "draft beers by Brewerkz" could mean the whole tap list or a selected few, and the page does not settle it.
  4. Do not plan on stacking the Mastercard 10%. Mandai's dining discount for Mastercard explicitly excludes *F&B tenants at Mandai Wildlife EAST & Mandai Wildlife WEST*, along with Breakfast in the Wild, Cavern Restaurant, KFC, Starbucks and the mobile F&B kiosks.
  5. Getting there is the real cost. Mandai is a drive, or a bus-and-shuttle trip, from most of the island. Build an evening around it rather than making a special trip for two pints.

Make an evening of it — all in the free zones

  • Mandai Boardwalk before the beer. 3.3km along Upper Seletar Reservoir, free, open 7:00am–7:00pm with last entry 6:00pm — so if you want the walk first, arrive by 6pm at the latest, then head to Owa Bistro inside the same 5–8pm window.
  • Owa Bistro's animal-themed cakes. Newly launched and running 1–31 August 2026 at the same bistro, per Mandai's page — a dessert stop even if you are not drinking.

  • A&W at Mandai Wildlife WEST, #02-01: Friends of Mandai members get a free A&W Root Beer with any combo on a single receipt, daily 9:00am–8:00pm, one redemption per day per electronic membership card regardless of how many combos you buy. Its Milo Godzilla waffle — Milo-dusted ice cream on a Milo-flavoured waffle — runs 28 July – 24 August 2026.

One more that does need a ticket

If you want the other Mandai 1-for-1: avian-inspired cocktails at Crimson Restaurant with Mastercard, a collaboration with PLUME at Pan Pacific Singapore, runs to 31 August 2026 — but Crimson is inside Bird Paradise, so that one needs park admission. The beer at Owa Bistro does not. That is the difference worth remembering.
