Apple's first foldable iPhone goes on sale in Singapore today, and the launch-day story is as much about stock as it is about price.
> Quick view: iPhone Duo available from today, 23 Oct 2026. Apple: S$3,099 (256GB) / S$3,399 (512GB) / S$3,999 (1TB) / S$4,899 (2TB), Star White or Night Sky, limit 2 per customer. 7.6-inch folding display, 5.4-inch outer screen, A20 Pro. StarHub's launch stock: fully reserved. M1: $0 upfront on Bespoke Flexi. Singtel: plans live at shop.singtel.com.
WHAT YOU ARE ACTUALLY BUYING
The Duo opens like a book to a 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR folding display and closes to a 5.4-inch outer screen for one-handed use. Inside is Apple's A20 Pro chip with a 48MP Dual Fusion camera system, in a body Apple pitches as foldable, poseable and durable. Two colours at launch: Star White and Night Sky. Apple's own accessories: a case at S$109 and a folio with kickstand at S$179.
APPLE'S PRICES, AND THE TWO-UNIT LIMIT
| Storage | Price (GST in) |
|---|---|
| 256GB | S$3,099 |
| 512GB | S$3,399 |
| 1TB | S$3,999 |
| 2TB | S$4,899 |
Apple is limiting purchases to two iPhone Duo per customer, a tell that supply is tight. Pre-orders opened on 16 October; availability starts today.
THE TELCO ROUTES, AND WHO IS ALREADY OUT
- StarHub swung hardest: the Duo at $0 with no trade-in on its Platinum Elite plan, the plan itself at 50% off, a $430 exclusive device discount, 0% instalments up to 36 months, and a claimed over $4,000 in savings and perks. The catch as of today: "stocks are fully reserved", and StarHub is running a notify-me waitlist for the next batch.
- M1 offers $0 upfront on Bespoke Flexi contracts, an extra $100 off for SAFRA cardmembers, and cashback with the M1 Citi card. Offer details sit behind a log-in eligibility check.
- Singtel lists the Duo with phone plans and SIM-only options at shop.singtel.com, and ran a register-your-interest page through the pre-order window.
OUTRIGHT OR CONTRACT: the honest maths
A $0 handset on a halved premium plan sounds unbeatable, but the comparison that matters is the 24-month total: plan payments plus upfront, against S$3,099 outright plus the cheapest SIM-only you would actually use. The telco route wins if you were going to sit on a top-tier plan anyway, or if the stacked discounts genuinely exceed the plan premium. If you just want the phone, Apple direct is also the most realistic way to get one today, given at least one telco's allocation is already spoken for.
