DBS announced on Tuesday 25 August 2026 that its PayLah! S$3 Saturday Cashback campaign is back for a fourth year — and this run is five weeks longer than last year's. It starts this Saturday, 29 August 2026, and goes to 19 December 2026.

Those two caps multiply out neatly, which is a useful sanity check: 160,000 x 17 Saturdays = 2.72 million, which is where the "2.7 million rewards" headline comes from. Put differently, if you catch it every single week, the campaign is worth up to S$51 to one person.
The 17 Saturdays, so you can plan the year
- August — 29
- September — 5, 12, 19, 26
- October — 3, 10, 17, 24, 31
- November — 7, 14, 21, 28
- December — 5, 12, 19
That last one, 19 December, lands the Saturday before Christmas — the campaign is being stretched across the whole year-end stretch rather than stopping in September as it did in 2025.
Where it works — look for the sticker, not the shop name
There is no list of "participating brands" here, because the merchants are individual stallholders and neighbourhood shops. In the previous run DBS put the number at over 22,000 participating stalls and shops, and told customers to look for one of two markers:
- Hawker stalls, coffee shops, canteens and food courts — the PayLah! Scan to Pay sticker, on a stall that is SGQR code-enabled
- Heartland shops and wet market stalls — the "POSB Supports Our Heartland Shops" wobbler
If the stall only takes a generic PayNow QR and is not on SGQR, it will not trigger the cashback. Scan the QR inside the PayLah! app (Scan QR), not through another bank's app.
The bit DBS has not published yet
This is the honest gap, and it is the part that decides whether you actually get the S$3. As of the evening of 25 August 2026, DBS's own Saturday Savings page still reads "details will be announced soon", and the campaign's terms and conditions are not up. Three things are not yet public:
- What time redemption opens each Saturday. In the 2025 run it started at 8am, and DBS moved it to 6am from 19 July 2025 after the first few weeks. Assume early, not lunchtime.
- Whether there is a minimum spend, and whether the cashback is applied at payment or credited after.
- The per-customer limit — one a day is the safe assumption.
Note the wording is "up to S$3". If your kopi and kaya toast comes to S$2.60, the cashback is capped by what you actually spent. Open the PayLah! app on Saturday morning and check the promotions tile before you queue.
29 August is a double-dip Saturday — with one catch
This Saturday is the only day the two halves of DBS's cost-of-living push overlap. 29 August is also the final Saturday of the bank's S$3 off eggs + S$3 off rice offer at Sheng Siong and Giant, which has run since 18 July. In theory you can take up to S$6 off a 30-egg tray and a 5kg bag of jasmine rice with any DBS/POSB card, then walk to the hawker centre and scan with PayLah! for up to S$3 more.
The catch is in Sheng Siong's own terms: once August's redemption allocation is fully redeemed, there is no restock for the rest of the month. Five Saturdays of the promo have already run, so the eggs-and-rice half may be gone before you get there. Giant refreshes its allocation weekly on Saturdays instead, so Giant is the better bet for a last-day attempt. Ask the cashier before you queue, and look for the "Fully redeemed" sign on the in-store posters.
Why DBS keeps bringing this back
The bank has run some version of a weekly hawker subsidy since 2023, and it publishes the reason each year. In the 2025 run, 36% of the people who redeemed the cashback were seniors and/or lower-income earners, and participating hawkers, wet-market stallholders and heartland merchants saw Saturday earnings from PayLah! transactions rise about 50% — up from the roughly 40% lift recorded during the 2024 campaign. DBS also says half of all PayLah! Scan to Pay transactions are now food and groceries at heartland shops and hawker stalls.
The campaign sits inside DBS Saturday Savings, the consumer arm of the S$10 million support package the bank announced on 25 April 2026 to help households with cost pressures.
> "Every dollar saved matters, especially amid today's rising costs," said Calvin Ong, head of consumer banking group at DBS Singapore, adding that the programme "also encourages more to support our neighbourhood businesses, allowing the benefits to flow back into the heartland communities we serve".
What to actually do
- Make sure DBS PayLah! is installed and you are logged in — set up auto-debit so a failed top-up does not cost you the window.
- On Saturday morning, open the app and check the promotions tile for the live mechanic and start time.
- Pay via Scan QR inside PayLah! at a stall showing the PayLah! Scan to Pay sticker or the POSB Supports Our Heartland Shops wobbler.
- Go early. 160,000 sounds like a lot until you remember it is islandwide, once a week.
