The math: six bottles of the $25.90 Chapoutier come to $155.40. With the extra 15% at Suntec, that is about $132.09, or $22.02 a bottle. Twelve mixed bottles at 20% off take a fifth off the whole lot.
What else is on at Suntec
- Free tastings of 90+ point wines, poured by wineries and wine experts
- Premium sake tastings on 16-18 Oct and 23-25 Oct, Friday to Sunday
- Cheese and deli pairing booths on Friday to Sunday, with cheeses such as Fromager d'Affinois ($13.50) and Pata Negra Ibérico ham ($25.90 for 50g)
- Free bottle engraving, Friday 6pm to 9pm and Saturday 12pm to 3pm
- iichiko gift: a free blind-box rock glass with any two eligible iichiko items, while stocks last
- yuu members: S$5 in Suntec+ carpark dollars with a $200 spend at the fair (first 500 members), and a scratch card for bonus yuu points
The fine print
- Suntec only for the multi-buy. The 15% and 20% are printed as valid "at Cold Storage Suntec store only". Other branches may carry the fair prices but not the extra cut.
- Still wine only. Champagne, prosecco and other sparkling wine, beer and spirits do not count toward the 6 or 12.
- Online is weaker. The website's version is 15% off 6 bottles, with the discount capped at $50, and no 12-bottle tier is shown.
- DBS/POSB is one per customer. S$12 off a S$120 receipt, while vouchers last.
- Usual exclusions. No clearance items, an exclusion list applies, no traders, and stock varies by store.
Tips
- Go on a Friday to Sunday. That is when the sake tastings and cheese pairings run, so you can taste before committing to a case.
- Mix the cheap and the dear. The extra 15% applies across any six still wines, so pairing a few $25.90 bottles with a $59 Eden Hall still clears the six-bottle mark.
- Buy 12 if you are hosting. At 20% off, a dozen for Deepavali or year-end parties beats two runs of six.
- Spend $200 and skip the carry. Free home delivery kicks in at $200 in one receipt, which a dozen mid-range bottles reach easily.
