Cathay Pacific turned 80 on 1 September, and it has put the whole Singapore route map on sale for the month under the name 80th AnniFAREsary. Round-trip all-in economy from S$354 to Hong Kong, S$424 to Beijing, S$727 to Tokyo, S$1,209 to Los Angeles, San Francisco or Seattle and S$1,221 to ten European cities, with taxes and surcharges already inside the numbers.
> Quick view: fares sell 1 to 30 Sep (travel to 31 Aug 2027) · codes CX80SG (S$80 off) and CX80SGLH (S$138 off) sell 1 to 15 Sep only · code travel 15 Sep to 10 Dec 2026 only · quotas 500 and 50 transactions · cathaypacific.com only, not the app · signed-in Cathay members only.
The two deadlines nobody separates
This campaign has two selling windows, not one, and reposts keep flattening them into a single "1 to 30 September".
- The fares sell 1 to 30 September 2026, and their travel period runs 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2027. Selected travel dates and blackout periods apply. That is a genuinely long runway: a sale fare bought in September can cover a trip next June.
- The promo codes sell 1 to 15 September 2026 only, and they only cover travel 15 September to 10 December 2026. That window shuts before Christmas, before the year-end school holidays and long before Chinese New Year.
So if you want the discount, the deadline that binds is 15 September, and the trip has to happen this side of December.
The number that matters: the smaller code is the bigger discount
There are two member codes, each locked to its own route list, and they cannot be stacked or swapped.
| Code | Discount | Routes from Singapore | Quota |
|---|---|---|---|
| CX80SG | S$80 off | Hong Kong, the Chinese Mainland (18 cities), Northeast Asia (Taipei, Kaohsiung, Seoul, Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, Sapporo) | First 500 transactions |
| CX80SGLH | S$138 off | North America (9 cities), Europe (12 cities), Australasia (7 cities) | First 50 transactions |
S$138 looks like the better prize. Measured against the fares it applies to, it is not:
- S$80 off the S$354 Hong Kong return is 23% off, and it takes the fare to S$274.
- S$80 off the S$424 Beijing group is 19% off, landing at S$344.
- S$138 off the cheapest long-haul fare in the sale, S$1,209 to Los Angeles, San Francisco or Seattle, is 11% off.
- S$138 off the S$1,584 Dallas fare is under 9% off.
The quotas run the same way. 500 transactions for the short-haul code against 50 for the long-haul one. If you are chasing CX80SGLH, treat it as a this-week decision rather than a fortnight's: once the 50 are gone the booking page returns "voucher quota has been exceeded", and you can still book, just at the undiscounted sale fare.
The fares, from Singapore, all-in return
Taxes and surcharges are included. Prices were correct as of 1 September 2026 and Cathay reserves the right to move them.
| Destination | Economy | Premium Economy | Business |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hong Kong | S$354 | S$994 | S$1,995 |
| Beijing / Qingdao / Zhengzhou / Xi'an / Chongqing / Chengdu | S$424 | S$1,421 | S$3,253 |
| Shanghai / Hangzhou / Ningbo / Nanjing / Wuhan / Wenzhou | S$485 | S$1,354 | S$3,398 |
| Urumqi | S$647 | n/a | n/a |
| Tokyo | S$727 | n/a | n/a |
| Osaka / Fukuoka / Nagoya | S$764 | n/a | n/a |
| Almaty | S$804 | n/a | n/a |
| Los Angeles / San Francisco / Seattle | S$1,209 | S$2,054 | S$6,231 |
| Paris / Amsterdam / Barcelona / Frankfurt / Madrid / Milan / Rome / Zurich / Munich / Brussels | S$1,221 | S$2,406 | S$4,288 |
| London | S$1,308 | S$2,593 | S$4,408 |
| Boston | S$1,354 | S$2,117 | S$7,052 |
| Chicago | S$1,354 | S$2,117 | S$5,802 |
| Vancouver | S$1,435 | S$2,100 | S$5,312 |
| New York | S$1,464 | S$2,108 | S$5,802 |
| Toronto | S$1,538 | S$2,125 | S$5,336 |
| Dallas | S$1,584 | S$2,913 | S$7,708 |
Two things fall out of that table that the press release does not point at.
- Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle at S$1,209 are cheaper in economy than New York at S$1,464, but the same west-coast group costs S$6,231 in business against New York's S$5,802. Which coast is cheaper depends on which cabin you are in.
- The ten-city Europe group is cheaper than London in every cabin. Paris, Rome, Madrid and the rest are S$1,221 economy and S$4,288 business, against London's S$1,308 and S$4,408. S$4,288 is the cheapest long-haul business fare in the entire sale.
The fine print on the codes
- Website only. Cathay's terms exclude the Cathay Pacific mobile app and other channels.
- Signed-in members only, and the code must go in during booking. A code applied after checkout will not be accepted, so check the fare summary before you pay.
- Round-trip only, and not valid on open-jaw, stopover, multi-city or package bookings, or on intermodal Air+Sea and Air+Land connections to the Greater Bay Area.
- No stacking with any other coupon, offer, discount or promotion.
- The discount does not touch cancellation or change fees, administrative fees or other miscellaneous charges.
- Child fares and infants with a seat are 75% of the adult fare; an infant without a seat is 10%. Premium Economy is not available on every route, and if you book it on a route without it you will be given an Economy seat instead.
- Bookings made with these codes do qualify for Cathay's member-exclusive 24-hour free cancellation.
The side offers, and what they actually pay
"Up to 1,946 bonus Asia Miles" is two offers added together. 866 miles per ticket booked in your name with either code between 1 and 15 September, but only if your Cathay membership number contains an 8 or a 0. The other 1,080 miles is the ordinary new-member sign-up bonus, which existing members cannot claim. Miles land by 30 November 2026 and are forfeited if the ticket is reissued or refunded.
"28% off your next flight" arrives as a personal code on your booking confirmation after you book with CX80SG or CX80SGLH. It covers one round-trip Economy ticket from Singapore to any Cathay Pacific destination departing 8 January to 23 May 2027, must be used by 8 October 2026, and is capped at the first 100 tickets for the whole campaign. One code per booking regardless of passenger count.
Also running alongside: S$130 off Cathay Holidays flight-and-hotel packages to Hong Kong for two or more travellers, book by 15 September; 10% cash off selected Cathay Shop merchandise to 9 October; 20% off in miles at Cathay Shop to 30 September; and boarding-pass offers of up to 40% off dining, shopping and hotels across Hong Kong.
What we would actually book
If Hong Kong was on your list anyway, this is the clean win: S$274 return all-in with CX80SG, booked before 15 September for travel before 10 December. Nothing else in the sale is a 23% cut.
If you are going long-haul, the code is a rounding error on the fare, so book on the fare itself rather than racing 49 other people for CX80SGLH, and use the longer 31 August 2027 travel window to pick better dates. The S$4,288 Europe business fare is the standout number on the whole table.
